  • Pigot’s Directory of Somersetshire 1830, includes a section on Crewkerne (page 704).
  • Kelly’s Post Office Directory of Somerset 1861, includes a section on Merriott (page 390) as well as one on Crewkerne (page 332).
  • 1873 Returns of Owners of Land of more than one acre.  Facsimile version on CD Rom reproduced from the original book by The Archive CD Books Project.   Gives Surname, Forename, abode, size of land holdings (over 1 acre) and  estimated gross rental value.

An Osborne-Stuckey descendant, Mr Bob Davies, volunteers at this History Room. (2001)   The Room hasn’t been open for very long, and is not well-known.  The opening hours are restricted – better check before turning up!
