Luke & Sarah (nee Osborne) LAWRENCE to New South Wales
Luke & Sarah Lawrence & family arrived on the “FitzJames”, into Sydney 1858. Luke’s nephew, William Osborne, and his family, were already in the colony.

The passenger list shows: Luke aged 45, Sarah aged 48, Samuel aged 13, Joseph aged 10, Robert aged 4.
Also on board were Luke & Sarah’s daughter Susan, with her husband Samuel Osborne, and son Samuel Osborne. This couple had married in 1857 on the Channel Island of Guernsey.

The 1871 census incorrectly lists Emma as a Widow, and we previously incorrectly deduced that George was deceased by 1871. In fact, more information about this family can be found here.
